The PBR will crown a world champion this week at the 25th PBR: Unleash The Beast World Finals, taking place for the 25th consecutive year in Las Vegas and for the third time at T-Mobile Arena. The richest bull riding event in the world features a more than $2.5 million purse, including $1million bonus to the world champion, who also receives the coveted world champion buckle. A $300,000 check is also awarded to the event winner. All the action began last night and Matt Triplett came out on top with a high score of 89.25 followed by Jose Vitor Leme with a score of 89 & Chase Outlaw with a score of 88. The PBR World Champion is determined by the bull rider who earns the most PBR world points throughout the regular season and the PBR World Finals. Current No.1 bull rider in the world , Kaique Pacheo, is in position to clinch the first World Championship of his four-year elite tour career this season. In 2015,the same he was crowned Rookie of the Year, Pacheo finished No. 2 in the world, 2,802.5 points behind World Champion J.B Mauney, Pacheo was runner-up once again in 2016, trailing Cooper Davis by 488.42 points at season’s end. Last year, Pacheo concluded the 2017 season ranked No.5 in the world, 890 points behind Jess Lockwood.
